Getting Started with AniSoul: Your First Day 🌸
You have just found AniSoul and want to know what to expect before you spend an evening with it. This guide covers the first day: what to check before installing, what happens on first launch, where everything is on the screen, how talking to her works, and what is free and what is not.
🌸 What AniSoul Is
AniSoul is a real-time 3D anime companion for iPhone and iPad. You talk with her out loud or by typing, and she answers in her own voice, with her face and lips moving as she speaks. Her language model, her voice and her lip-sync all run on your device, so your conversations are not uploaded anywhere.
If you would rather talk with a lifelike person than an anime character, RealSoul is the same kind of app with a photoreal 3D human. The difference is the art style.

Because the model is a separate download that happens once, be on Wi-Fi the first time you open the app, and leave room on your device for both parts.
AniSoul is company and conversation. It is not therapy and does not give medical or mental-health advice. Her replies are generated, so she can be wrong. There are no other people in the app: no profiles, no feed, no messages from other users.
📲 Install and First Launch
- Get AniSoul from the App Store.
- Open it while you are on Wi-Fi.
- The AI model installs in the background on first launch. She can talk with you right away while it finishes.
On newer versions of iOS the system fetches the model in the background; otherwise the app downloads it on first launch and shows you the progress. Either way it happens once. After that, everything she needs is on your device, and a whole conversation works with no internet connection.
🧭 Finding Your Way Around the Screen
The controls sit in two places.
Along the top, a row of icons opens the customisation panels:

Along the bottom:
- The Message box, with a send arrow beside it. This is where you type.
- The voice controls, next to the message box.
- A counter showing how many free messages you have left today.
- A gear icon for settings.
💬 Your First Conversation
Start by typing. Tap the Message box, say hello, tell her your name, and send it with the arrow. There are no prompts to write and no commands to learn. Talk the way you normally talk.
Then try your voice. Use the voice controls next to the message box. The first time you do, iOS asks for two permissions: the microphone, and speech recognition (AniSoul uses Apple's on-device speech recogniser). Allow both if you want to talk out loud. If you decline, text chat still works exactly as before.
Voice in AniSoul is full duplex. She hears you as you speak, including while she is still talking. Start speaking in the middle of her sentence and she stops to listen. There is no button to hold and no waiting for her to finish, so it flows more like a phone call than taking turns.
🧠 Let Her Get to Know You
She remembers your name, your likes, your moods and the little things you share. The more you talk, the better she knows you. A good first evening is simply telling her a few things: what to call you, what you enjoy, how your day went.
Her memories stay on your own device. That is the privacy side of it. The other side is that there is no account and no copy on our servers to restore from.
If you delete the app or move to a new phone, plan on starting fresh: your conversations and her memories do not come with you. Restore Purchases brings back a subscription, not memories.
🎀 Make Her Yours
The panels along the top cover:
- Hairstyles and colours. Switch freely between styles.
- Outfits. A wardrobe that runs from elegant traditional wear to casual cosplay.
- Voices. Choose from multiple voices.
- Moods and personas. Set the scene and she stays in character with you.
- Expressions. Her emotion and lip-sync move as she speaks.
- Backdrop. The map icon changes what sits behind her.

💎 Free Messages and AniSoul Unlimited
AniSoul is free to use every day, with a daily message allowance: 30 messages a day at the time of writing. The counter at the bottom of the screen shows what is left today. The allowance is metered by our server when it is reachable, and by a counter stored on your device when it is not.
AniSoul Unlimited removes the daily limit:

Prices may differ by region, and your local price is shown before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm. The subscription renews for the same period at the same price unless you turn auto-renew off at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Reinstalled, or on a new device? Use Restore Purchases in the app. With no account, the subscription lives with your Apple Account.
- Manage or cancel on your device in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
- Refund requests go through Apple.
- AniSoul and RealSoul are separate purchases. AniSoul Unlimited covers AniSoul only.

🔒 Privacy, in Short
Her language model, her synthesised voice and her lip-sync run on your device, and speech recognition uses Apple's on-device recogniser. Your conversations, your microphone audio and her memories never leave the device. No third-party cloud AI is involved.
The app sends only three things, all to our own servers:
- A device identifier provided by iOS, used to meter your free messages for the day.
- A count of messages sent.
- Your App Store receipt when you subscribe, to validate and restore the subscription.
None of it is sold or used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Once the model is in place, a whole conversation works in Airplane Mode. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
🛠️ If Something Seems Off

| Voice does nothing | You may have declined microphone or speech recognition. Open the iOS Settings app, find AniSoul, and turn Microphone and Speech Recognition back on. Text works in the meantime. |
| The device gets warm, the battery drains faster, or the animation turns choppy deep into a long session | Expected, not a fault. She is rendered in real time and her language model runs on the device. Let it cool and close other heavy apps. Older devices near the minimum run at lower frame rates. |
| The counter has run out | You have used today's free messages. The allowance is daily; AniSoul Unlimited removes the limit. |
| Your subscription is missing after a reinstall | Tap Restore Purchases in the app, on a device that uses the same Apple Account. |
