AI Booster on iOS

AI Booster requires iOS 16.0 or later and is distributed only through the App Store. There is no sideloaded build — on iOS, the App Store is the entire distribution channel.

Install

1. Open the listing and confirm the developer before installing. Proxy clients attract lookalikes.
2. Install and launch.
3. The first time you connect, iOS shows "AI Booster Would Like to Add VPN Configurations". This dialog comes from the system, not the app, and you will be asked for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode to confirm it. The tunnel cannot start until you allow it.

After you allow it, a VPN entry appears in Settings → General → VPN & Device Management. That entry is how iOS tracks the configuration; it is not a second app.

Why the tunnel runs the way it does

On iOS, a VPN client cannot capture traffic from inside the app. The system requires a separate network extension process, which the app installs alongside itself and iOS starts on demand. Two consequences worth knowing:

• The status indicator in Settings can show the VPN as connected slightly before or after the app does. They are two views of the same state, refreshed at different moments.
• Force-quitting the app does not necessarily stop the tunnel. Disconnect from inside the app, or turn the VPN off in Settings.

Add a profile

Paste a link. The recognised schemes are vless://, vmess://, trojan://, ss://, hysteria2:// (also hy2://, hy://), tuic://, wg://, ssh:// and warp://.

Scan a QR code. The app asks for camera access the first time. It is used for scanning and nothing else; decline it and every other import route still works.

Use a subscription URL. An http:// or https:// link is stored as a subscription — fetched now, refreshable later — rather than frozen as a single node.

Open a link from another app. Tapping a supported :// link in Safari, Mail or Messages hands it to AI Booster.

Battery and background behaviour

iOS manages the network extension itself, and it is considerably less aggressive about stopping it than Android is. In normal use the tunnel survives the screen locking and the app being backgrounded.

If the connection drops when the device has been idle for a long time, that is usually the network changing underneath it — Wi-Fi to cellular, or a Wi-Fi network that dropped — rather than iOS terminating the extension.

Troubleshooting

The VPN dialog never appears. Check Settings → General → VPN & Device Management for a configuration left by another client. iOS allows several configurations to exist but only one to be active.

Connected, but nothing loads. Usually the node rather than the app. Try a different node in the same profile before anything else; the full diagnostic order covers the rest.

The toggle turns itself off immediately. Almost always a profile the engine cannot parse, or a node that refuses the handshake. Try another node in the same profile to tell the two apart.

It works on Wi-Fi but not on cellular. Some nodes are reachable on one path and not the other, particularly with UDP-based protocols such as Hysteria 2. Testing the same node on both is the quickest way to confirm.

Uninstall

Delete the app. iOS removes the VPN configuration with it. If an entry is still listed under Settings → General → VPN & Device Management afterwards, it belongs to a different client.
